Hello!

I like to think of the art of doll-making as inspiring and calming. I fill each doll I make with love, and hope that this loving energy will carry through to the people who bring my dolls into their families. Welcome to my journal, where I share my creative adventures. Hope you have a pleasant stay!

La fille aux fleurs

La fille aux fleurs

Who can resist the charms of this little flower girl? Her name came from Latin flos, meaning flower. And truly she is - beautiful and delicate, and ready to blossom, like the first spring flower. Dressed in a bright floral dress, she celebrates the beginning of spring.

Flora is a little over 21” long and is made with cotton swiss jersey and stuffed with eco-wool. Her hair is wefted mohair, tea-dyed by me and crocheted into a wig. She is wearing a Liberty print dress with puffed long sleeves and nickel-free snaps at the back; a pair of cotton underpants, trimmed with beautiful embroidery lace; an underdress made with France Duval-Stalla plumetis cotton; a silk-lined cloak made with Italian wool, wooden buttons, and leather loops. Her shoes are hand-crocheted with silky-soft mohair, and a detachable rabbit fur collar adds a lovely accent to her little person.
