Hazel - A Girl from the Past
It was one of those nostalgic autumn afternoons in which the rain quietly thumping on the window panes makes you want to boil some peppermint tea and, curling up in a warm blanket, open that box full of old family photographs. Changed to reddish brown with age. Replete with stories, some of which you remember growing up with. Like that story about your great aunt at the turn of the century who got really upset when her older sister left for boarding school.
They had been inseparable. Did everything together: ate, played, slept… And now, she was all alone. How wonderful would it have been to leave everything and jump onto the next coach and travel 40 miles to the capital to join her sister! But no, she was too young. Two more years they told her.
And that’s what I tell my little Hazel because all of her siblings have already left the house as well. But she’s still pouting. She doesn’t have anyone to play with.
“Hey, come play with me! Look at the cool hiding place I’ve found for myself!” - she says.
"Oh, you'll definitely not find me now!"
Hazel is 16" tall. She is made with Swiss cotton interlock and stuffed very firmly with wool. She has a needle-sculpted face and her hair is made with curly goat mohair weft that has been crocheted into a cap and stitched down to the head. She also has little ears, knees, elbows and a cute bum. Hazel's underwear is crafted with fine organic cotton batiste, silk ribbon and beautiful French lace, the wrap-over style dress is sewn with a Liberty of London corduroy, her silky-soft boots and cardigan are hand-knitted with gorgeous silk and mohair Artyarn.
Hazel is recommended for a child 6+ or an adult collector and will be hiding in the green jug tomorrow, November 1st, at 7pm EST, waiting for someone to find her :) Please visit the store to check her out!
